Highlander: The Animated Series

Highlander: The Animated Series was a Canadian-French television series first premiering in 1994. The show lasted two seasons, and followed a new-ish plot. After a meteorite ignited all nuclear weapons killing a large portion of humanity, the immortals vowed to break from the game to preserve humanity. The immortals who decided to stop fighting were called Jettators. Unfortunately, as all immortals swear against fighting, one immortal, Kortan broke his oath and gathered an army to dominate the world. 700 years later, Quentin Macleod is killed trying to protect his village from Kortan's men. As he returns to life, his mother explains that he is immortal, and he is Quentin Macleod, the Last of the Macleods. With help from Ramirez and his adopted sister, Clyde, they go about trying to gain knowledge through "sharings" rather than beheadings. As two immortals hold a sword, knowledge and power is transeferred, and with enough power, he is able to overcome the odds against Kortan.. Visit some of our great partners!
"'Highlander: The Animated Series' plays like a failed attempt to introduce the mythology to a new generation. Although hardcore fans will appreciate the sword-swinging action, the show is not exceptional in idea or execution." - Gordan Sullivan, DVD Verdict
"Any chance of an interesting premise revolving around this post-apocalyptic narrative is shot down by stiff dialogue, an odd marriage of tones between child-friendly glee and some darker elements, and the unforgivable mangling of the Highlander storyline." - Thomas Spurlin, DVD Talk
